OUR STORY

Let me take you on a journey through 35 years of my life as a residential real estate appraiser. It's been a rollercoaster ride of challenges, triumphs, and a deep-rooted passion for the world of property valuation.

I remember the day I first stepped into this profession, fresh-faced and eager to learn. Little did I know the depth of knowledge and expertise that awaited me. Over the years, I've walked through countless neighborhoods, inspected countless homes, and met countless homeowners, each with their own unique story woven into the fabric of their property.

One of the cornerstones of my career has been my affiliation with the Appraisal Institute. It's not just an organization; it's a community of like-minded professionals dedicated to advancing the field of real estate valuation. Through the Institute, I've had the opportunity to attend seminars, workshops, and conferences that have expanded my skills and kept me abreast of the latest industry trends and practices. The camaraderie and support of my fellow appraisers have been invaluable, especially during challenging times.

But it's not just about the professional associations; it's also about the responsibility that comes with being a member of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers. Serving on the board has been a privilege and a duty that I take very seriously. It's about upholding the integrity of the profession, ensuring that standards are met, and protecting the interests of both consumers and practitioners alike. It's about maintaining a balance between regulation and innovation, between tradition and adaptation.

Through it all, I've seen the real estate market evolve and transform. From the boom times of the '80s to the bust of the early 2000s, from the rise of technology to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, each era has brought its own set of challenges and opportunities. But through every twist and turn, one thing has remained constant: my unwavering commitment to providing accurate, unbiased appraisals that serve as the foundation of informed decision-making.

As I reflect on the past 35 years, I am filled with gratitude for the clients who have entrusted me with their most valuable asset, for the mentors who have guided me along the way, and for the colleagues who have become lifelong friends. It's been a journey of growth, learning, and fulfillment, and I look forward to many more years of serving the community and contributing to the profession that I love.
